Radiation Treatments are Done

^

Laura finished up the radiation treatments today at the Ogden Medical Center. Here are a few pictures from the day. One is of Laura ringing the bell that announces the completion of treatments. She really let it have it. One is of her hugging her new friend for life, Brandii, the nurse who helped her each day of radiation. These "care givers" are very special people. They all seem to really want to help and are not just in it for the pay check. We have been very impressed with them at all the hospitals we have encountered during this process. The final picture is of Laura removing her hat as she exits the Cancer Treatmemt Center. She chose this day as the day when she would no longer wear a hat or scarf on her head. Her hair is about a quarter of an inch long now and is a nice charcoal color. We don't refer to it as any stage of gray. Laura prefers light black.

The next step will be the reconstruction surgery. Laura has several followup visits with various doctors in the next couple of months, one of which is Dr. Agarwal, the reconstruction doctor. We think the surgery will be in February but will know more in a week or so.
