Family Support is Great

>
Well, it has finally happened. Laura started losing hair last Thursday, July 2, during a visit from her brother Russell and his family. The next night, Friday, Laura asked me to shave her head. It was going fast. She was tired of the hair all over and decided to get rid of it. That was not an easy decision for her, but one she knew she would have to make sooner or later.

On the Fourth of July, our family drove to Laura’s sister Wendy’s home in Payson for a family get-together. All her brothers and sisters were there with their spouses and most of the kids. Laura wore a scarf on her head. I took this picture of her with her brothers, Russell and Craig, who had shaved their heads in support of Laura (something her husband has not been able to do). Laura was touched by this thoughtful gesture from her brothers.

This Friday, July 10, is chemo session number two. Also, Laura has a follow up appointment with the surgeon, Dr. Neumayer, on the same day. The decision on radiation has not been made officially, but we are planning on it. Laura will be scheduling an appointment at the Ogden Medical Center to see if we can get the radiation done there.
